Hayden Kite Festival moved to May 14

A cold and rainy forecast has led Hayden city officials to postpone the Hayden Kite Festival to next weekend.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and hope you can join us on Saturday, May 14," the city said in a Friday news release.

The annual festival will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Broadmoore Park, 2691 W. Broadmoore Drive. Broadmoore Park is in Broadmoore Estates, north of Atlas Elementary School.

Registration and kite flying will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Judging will be from 1:30-2 p.m. followed by an awards ceremony at 2:15 p.m.

Categories will include Best in Show, High Flyer, Best Homemade and more.

The Hayden Kite Festival is free and open to all ages. Kites will be

available first-come, first-serve thanks to Aspen Homes in awareness of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
