SPOKANE — Gonzaga senior Rasir Bolton has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft.
"First, I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play this game," Bolton said. "Next, I want to thank my family and closest friends for always being my support system through the ups and downs on my journey. To my Zag coaches, support staff and teammates, thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of something special. To Zag Nation and the Spokane Community, I love you guys! I appreciate the love and support you all had for us as a team and for welcoming me with open arms, I am forever grateful! I hope I made a difference.
"With that being said, playing in the NBA has been a dream of mine since I first picked up the ball. After talking it over with my family I've decided to declare for the 2022 NBA Draft."
After transferring to Gonzaga from Iowa State, Bolton made an immediate impact for the Zags. He started all 32 games this past season, leading the team with 64 made three-pointers on 139 attempts. Bolton made 81.7 percent from the free-throw line. He was ninth in conference play with a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Bolton was selected to the Division I-AAA ADA Men's Scholar Athlete Team. He is finalizing his Master of Arts and boasts a 4.0 grade point average with his M.A. in Organizational Leadership. He earned a cumulative GPA of 3.36 with Bachelor of Liberal Studies (B.L.S.) in August 2021 at Iowa State University.
Bolton was named to the GU President's List (3.85+ GPA) in the fall.
