BOISE — Post Falls senior Sammie Wood added two more titles to her weekend at the Knight Invitational, winning in both the 1,600- and 800-meter run on Saturday at Bishop Kelly High.
Wood, who captured the 3,200 on Friday, won the 1,600 in a meet record 4 minutes, 57.72 seconds. The previous mark was 5:05.49 by Eve Jensen of Boise in 2016. Wood also eclipsed her own meet record in the 800 (2:14.91), with the previous record at 2:15.98
Trojan junior Annastasia Peters was second in 1,600 (5:10.86). Sophomore Kinlee McLean was second in the 400 (1:00.33).
Senior Dalton Wild won the 100 (11.15), with sophomore Dylan Wolfe second (11.20). Wolfe won the 200 (22.76), followed by Wild (22.86). Relay teams in the 4x100 (43.97) and 4x200 (1:31.54) with Wild, Wolfe, Chase Berg and Kaeden Waters finished runner up.
Junior Trevor Miller was second in the discus (147 feet, 2 ½ inches).
“We finally got a couple of days with some sunshine and decent weather,” Post Falls coach Wade Quesnell said. “All of the kids performed really well. I really think it’s going to help our kids as far as a preview of the state meet and what that’s going to be like.”
Post Falls competes in the Lakeland Take Flight Relays on Friday.
