WASDEN: Returning some respect

When I was the Democratic candidate for governor in 2006, I took quite a liking to Lawrence Wasden, the Republican Attorney General, when we appeared at joint events. He was well-spoken, obviously intelligent, warm and respectful to everyone.
Since then I have watched him issue opinions and represent the state in one occasion after another, some of which displeased some members of his own party. However our state’s welfare is grounded in our Constitution and laws. It is Wasden’s job to advise us on what is right, not what may be popular with some in the Legislature.
He is brave and highly competent attorney. I hope to vote for him again in November because Republicans have supported him again in next month’s primary.
