CHRISTINA FINNEY RELAYS: Post Falls wins for second straight year

POST FALLS — The meets in preparation for the postseason are getting slimmer, as are the times as the weather — finally — begins to cooperate with area track and field teams.
Post Falls claimed the combined team title at the Christina Finney Relays for the second straight year, finishing with 226.83 points.
“Overall, I thought there were some really good times all around today,” Post Falls coach Wade Quesnell said. “Given the weather and everything the teams have been through, it was a good day.”
Lake City edged Post Falls in the boys 4x200 relay race by .30 seconds.
“They’re pretty evenly matched,” Quesnell said. “Lake City ran really well today. It should be a really good race at regionals.”
Running the 400 for the first time this season, Post Falls senior Sammie Wood captured another school record, winning in 57.70 seconds. The previous record was held by Wednesday Walton (59.38 in 2013).
“I knew at the start of the year that she’d get that record,” Quesnell said. “I told her she might as well pick a meet and run it, and she did a great job today.”
Post Falls senior Dalton Wild won both the 100 and 200.
The Lake City girls relay team of Madison Quigley, Hailey Jo Parks, Georgia Whitehead and Keturah Vogel-Greenwood won in the 4x100 and 4x200.
