NRA endorses Wasden for AG

BOISE — The National Rifle Association (NRA-Political Victory Fund), America's foremost defender of the Constitution and Second Amendment rights, endorses Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden, as its choice for the May 17 Republican primary.

Wasden is a staunch supporter of gun rights, building a lengthy track record of advocating against government overreach, particularly to protect Idahoans' Second Amendment rights.

From the NRA Endorsement Letter:

Wasden earned an "A" rating from the NRA for his "steadfast and demonstrated leadership on Second Amendment issues" during his tenure as Idaho Attorney General.

The NRA's endorsement cited four cases during Wasden's current term where the AG defended the Second Amendment in four NRA-backed legal cases.

"Idahoans have a long history of advocating for freedom and gun rights are at the core of what makes our state and its people special," Wasden said. "I am humbled to receive the endorsement of the NRA and vow to continue to fight for gun owners to be able to continue to exercise their freedoms which are granted as part of our country's foundation."

Attorney General Wasden’s consistent conservative record of public safety is the heart of his duty. He puts the Constitution ahead of politics and is a strong supporter of state’s rights including:

• Protecting the rights of lawful gun owners.

• Working to stop the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs across southern border.

• Protecting our kids from predators while enforcing stiff sentences for offenders.

• Protecting seniors and all Idahoans from con-artists and scams.

• Vigorously defending the Heartbeat Law.

• Standing up for law enforcement officers.

"Lawrence Wasden is Idaho's Constitutional conservative Attorney General, which is why the NRA backs him," said former Idaho Attorney General and Lt. Gov. David Leroy. "The right to keep and bear arms is a core constitutional principle and we can count on Lawrence Wasden to defend the Constitution, no matter what."
