PROBLEMS: Blame loose borders

| April 15, 2022 1:00 AM

I’m a Wisconsinite living in Montana and come to the Athol area quite regularly; I do a lot of shopping in the Hayden, Coeur d’Alene and Spokane areas. So I’ve driven the Highway 95 corridor and surrounding roads for the last 12 years or so. I was quite impressed with the care that all the businesses and private homes have for their lawns, gardens and general landscaping.

That has changed.

About the time that our national policy for security on our southern border has destroyed that, along with our economy, the skyrocketing of gas prices, tax increases and many other factors. We have and are having a huge increase of people moving from other states that are more directly affected by these changes. Since that time, I have seen the beautiful North Idaho area become a large garbage pit. The litter along the roadways is shameful.

An old saying is, “you can’t lie to yourself.”

Whoever is guilty of the litter, grow up, pick up your garbage and take it back without you to wherever you came from.
