Neighborhood of the Week: Roots near The Links

Thanks to The Masters, golf is back on the brain at Neighborhood of the Week.

A few weeks back we explored availability near golf courses in Coeur d’Alene, as well as in proximity to the Highlands and Prairie Falls Golf Course in Post Falls, but we’ve got another Post Falls course to talk about.

Enjoy 18-holes surrounded by stunning mountain views at The Links Golf Course, located just off Chase Road in northwest Post Falls near Highway 53. Those who love the course most will need to pitch a tent if they want the course to be their backyard, as there aren’t homes there for you.

Editor’s note: Don’t actually pitch a tent at The Links. That’s rude.

While The Links has the feeling of being “way out there,” the course is just an easy, swift drive from central Post Falls and a short jaunt from Rathdrum. You know it’s not very far from anything because I used the phrases, “easy and swift” and “short jaunt,” and I would never lie.

Not much residential development to speak about in the immediate vicinity of The Links, but you can find some activity near the merging of McGuire Road and Highway 53. A few homes are under construction in a development called Garnet Ranch. The big draw here is acreage, with lot sizes boasting five acres — plenty of space between your neighbors.

Benway Quality Homes is handling many of the builds in Garnet Ranch, and you can visit their website at Benwayqualityhomes.com/garnet-ranch-1 to get a sense of their lineup of layout plans. You can also contact Cody Funk at 208-651-9410 for more information on availability.

As far as listings in that development — there is a pending home with 1,700-plus square feet and four bedrooms that posted in the mid $600,000s, though final price is unclear.

As for other listings near The Links… let’s just say you probably won’t be able to safely drive your golf cart there from your house. One pending listing (located southeast of the course) for a 10-acre property with a main home and multiple farm and animal structures was priced at $1.4 million.

Head south of the course on Chase near Prairie Avenue to find your next best bet of available homes at the appealing Crown Pointe neighborhood, though many of the listings there are already marked as pending. Homes there come in various sizes, with prices ranging from the mid $400,000s up to the $600,000 and above range for the larger homes.

If you’d like to dream of a life of leisure that includes proximity to golf and a waterfront, then consider heading just a touch north of Highway 53 in the area on Hauser Lake. There are three spacious new construction listings with lake views and access that range between $1 million and $1.6 million. There’s also a pending listing for a lot nearby priced at just below $350,000. More on Hauser Lake in a Neighborhood of the Week installment in the coming weeks.
