Registration open for Spring Dash

| April 9, 2022 1:00 AM

The 40th annual Spring Dash, a fundraiser for United Way of North Idaho, is set for April 23.

The 5-mile fun run was held virtually the past two years, but this year, it’s back to an in-person race. It will start and finish at McEuen Park. The course will wind its way through Sanders Beach, onto Coeur d’Alene Lake Drive, before runners turn back.

In years past, the race attracted more than 2,000 people.

“Since 1982, Spring Dash has been the kickoff to the running season,” according to the UWNI website.

It's a good tuneup for Bloomsday, which is the following weekend on May 1.

Funds are earmarked to benefit ALICE, which stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.

"The ALICE population represents those among us who are working but due to child care costs, transportation challenges, high cost of living, and so much more, are living paycheck to paycheck," UWNI said.

The virtual option remains for those who can’t make it to the in-person Dash.

Participants will receive a T-shirt and refreshments.
