“Cinderella: Broadway Version,” an updated version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein original musical, opens on Thursday at Lake City High School. The show includes many of the hit songs along with a few new songs to help drive a different aspect of the story.

A total of 21 student actors, eight student designers and over 30 student technicians have been working on the show since February. For over a month and a half, the students have been rehearsing three hours a day, five days a week to learn the choreography, music and blocking.

“It has been so much work, but the excitement and the joy coming from these kids has made every minute worth it,” said Daniel Bell, theater instructor at Lake City High School.

The last Lake City High School musical performed was in 2017, when they produced Something's Afoot."

“It's been a long time without a musical on our stage, and it feels so good to bring this play to life,” Bell said.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. The show will be held in the school's auditorium.

Performances run Thursday through Saturday, and April 21st through 23rd.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $9 for students and seniors, and $8 for Coeur d’Alene students with ASB cards. For groups of five-plus, use promo code “Group5,” and promo code “Group10” for groups of 10 or more.
