ABORTION: Focus on fetal pain

| September 29, 2021 1:00 AM

I recently did research looking for present day, peer-reviewed data on when a baby in the womb feels pain. There is shockingly little data. The country is beside itself with the Texas “Heartbeat law.” Most of the research is static on when a baby’s heart begins to beat.

The Mayo Clinic says, “The heart beats 65 times a minute at one month.” But in my research, I found there is little consensus on when a baby feels pain.

The womb is completely dark and yet magical things happen there; life happens there. There is another kind of darkness, one that ends life. According to Planned Parenthood, there are two types of early on abortion. 1) “Suction, or vacuum, it uses gentle suction to empty your uterus. This is used until about the 14/16th weeks.” After that procedure is no longer viable; after 16 weeks. 2) Dilation and Evacuation: It uses suction and medical tools to empty your uterus. The cold darkness of these statements is horrifying. “Empty your uterus” like it was a garbage can. “Medical tools” that rip babies’ limb from limb.

The percentage of women who have abortions due to rape is less than 1%. The math says abortions are a choice. If the science can awaken the legislators to the lack of representation for the unborn, the legislators will awake the populace about choice.

There is a new study challenging the 24-week threshold for babies feeling pain. (See below)

The Journal of Medical Ethics published a study earlier this month that’s estimating that babies might feel pain as early as 12 weeks.
