JOURNEY: Wheel in the sky

Our friend Phyllis has made 95 journeys around the big wheel in the sky!

She had already cruised through space for more than 4 billion miles when President Franklin Roosevelt gave his “Great Depression Speech” (1933):

“Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed effort to convert retreat into advance.”

2 Timothy 1:7: “For GOD has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.”

Recently, my wife drove Phyllis to have stitches removed. But alas, she was forgotten, and the doctor went home?

No problem, our women can survive. Except be careful when taking stitches out of a cat’s belly. Cats can really make scary sounds!

Yes, bad things and evil abound — World War I, World War II, Hitler, Stalin, Josef Mengele (Nazi doctor, called “Angel of Death”)…

After a nurse said that I had very narrow nasal passageways, I wanted to say “that some physicists think gravity is not a constant!”

Visiting my zucchini, I noticed that the grill of my Rav-4 looks like a whale shark’s huge mouth!

Now after circling parts of the universe 79 times, I can remember Explorer Thor Heyerdahl and his balsa tree raft Kon-Tiki (1947). See Albright.

What a surprise that just 23 years later (1970), I too, “sailed the Pacific.” However, I did not see a docile plankton eating whale shark like Heyerdahl.

There is always a bigger picture and hope if we do not give up.
