RAPE: Cycle must be broken

Your article printed on Sept. 9 about the “alleged” (ya right) rapist disgusts me. First and foremost, rape and physical abuse has no place in this world and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

What this young woman must have experienced for more than a year from this perpetrator is heartbreaking and should happen to no one. That being said, his comments that the young lady recorded indicate learned behavior. The most likely place is in his own home.

One must have sympathy for his mother as I assume she may possibly have received the same or similar treatment from someone in her own household. I just shake my head with disgust that this behavior is passed from one generation to the next. Report the abuse. Get help. Break the cycle.
