SCHOOLS: Listen to the parents

| October 28, 2021 1:00 AM

Parents are finally awakening to the garbage and indoctrination being taught in public schools across the nation.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliff recently let slip, “I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decisions,” and, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

Guess what? Our Coeur d’Alene School Board trustees think the same. Having questioned what is being taught locally for over 10 years, I have repeatedly heard the same sentiment expressed by those in control of our schools — “leave teaching to the experts.”

Leaving it to the experts means leaving the status quo in place, and continued indoctrination of our kids involving critical race theory (cloaked as “equity”), intersectional feminism, and transgenderism. Instead of well-educated young adults coming out of our schools, we get woke activists.

CDA school board candidates Lisa May, Rebecca Smith and Lindsey Swingrover represent “leaving it to the experts” and the status quo. All three are part of the education establishment. Please do not vote for them.

I support common sense, a return to knowledge-based teaching and listening to the parents, without the politics. For the CDA School Board, I support Allie Anderton in Zone 1, Leslie Bjerke in Zone 4, and Glen Campbell in Zone 5.
