SWINGROVER: Steward to Cd’A students

| October 8, 2021 1:00 AM

Mental health has been on the back burner for our school age children during this entire pandemic. The CDC reported an increase in emergency mental health visits of 24% in ages 5-11, and 31% in ages 12-17. There is no doubt that we have seen these struggles locally.

We need leaders in our schools to address the toll this has taken on students. When considering a qualified candidate for the board of trustees, longtime Coeur d’Alene resident Lindsey Swingrover comes to mind. She has served as a steward to our students in the role of school psychologist in the 271 district since 2011. Let’s think beyond this pandemic and behind the mask that holds so many one-issue voters.
