'Awake my soul and sing'
After nearly two years of silence because of the pandemic, Chorale Coeur d’Alene is opening its 2021-22 season with a free concert on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Post Falls.
Keith Whitlock, the new director, will be leading the chorale for the first time. He holds a doctoral or musical arts from the University of Southern California and has a long history of directing church and community choirs, including tours in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Selections include Elaine Hagenberg’s “The Music of Stillness,” Andrew Miller’s “Alleluia Incantation,” George Frideric Handel’s “Sing Unto God” and Joseph Martin’s “The Awakening.”
Seating is first come first serve. A free will offering will be taken.
