William McLean Stewart, 89

William McLean Stewart III passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born April 24, 1932, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Esther and William Stewart Jr. He was an only child.

William met the love of his life, Patricia Wrangler while attending the University of Syracuse. They went on to marry in June of 1954 and had two children, Deborah and Bruce. Once the children were born, William and Patricia moved the family to the Pacific Northwest and transferred to the University of Washington and graduated. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 20 years. Over those 20 years, he toured everywhere from Guam, to Greece and all over the United States. William retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1976 and spent the past 25 years in the Coeur d’Alene area. In retirement, he kept himself busy repairing computers and diving into real estate. He enjoyed camping, photography, and all things electronic.

William is survived by his wife, Patricia, along with son, Bruce Stewart, daughter, Deborah Findley and five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
