DALTON: Just start over

| May 23, 2021 1:00 AM

I remember back on Nov. 5, 2019, election day when Dalton Gardens’ current city council was literally dancing in the street in anticipation of their win. I don’t see them dancing now.

The city is in the worst shape of its life with all city staff and contract agencies resigned. The city now runs the risk of ceding authority to the state or getting annexed into neighboring cities.

This council has fought and bickered from day one, trying to advance their own personal agenda. Only one council member responded to The Press’s request for comment.

Unfortunately, the city is getting what it deserves. It will be very difficult to fill these positions with the current environment. The best thing for the city right now would be for the current council to resign and start fresh.
