FISH: A true conservative

| May 14, 2021 1:00 AM

I am writing in support of Robert Fish, candidate for Library board. It is my understanding that he was recently urged to agree to censoring material found in our library system by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee (KCRCC). As a true conservative, I was utterly dismayed to hear this. Because he would make no such agreement, the central committee has decided to endorse his opponents.

In all its history, the Community Library Network (CLN) has every year applied for and accepted a 2-4% increase in funding, which results in higher property taxes. When Bob joined the board, he brought his finance expertise to the group and consequently the CLN has graciously refused the funding increases for the past two years. This is conservatism in action and I am disgusted that the KCRCC would overlook this very practical success and instead engage in the Democrats’ game of Cancel Culture.

Bob is a fine and conservative man and I’m proud he has stood against censorship.
