PREP BASEBALL: Timberlake advances to state play-in game

SPIRIT LAKE — Joseph Borges had a two-run single in the bottom of the first, then scored on a passed ball for Timberlake, which beat Kellogg 10-4 in the 3A District 1 second-place game at Timberlake High on Wednesday.

Timberlake (12-10) advances to a state play-in game at Lewiston on Saturday against Payette, the third-place team from District 3.

Alex Drake had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored for Timberlake.

Ramsey Rainio and Logan Jerome had two hits each for Kellogg, which finished 8-12.
