TEACHER: Three cheers for Tanya

Kudos to Tanya Lilley, the U.S. History teacher at Lakes Middle School for her “thinking outside the box” teaching style!

I hated history in school, it was BORING, because we read out of a book! To be so creative and re-enact the Civil War is genius. Many students learn by doing, hands on, not by reading out of a book or a tablet.

Now, let’s challenge more teachers to think of creative ideas to teach a subject that is required, but maybe not much interest to many students. They’ll retain the lesson.
