CLAYTON: Punctures paranoid balloons

Thank you Cornell Clayton for your insightful column (March 19). It should be required reading. It will be fun to see the kickbacks you get from the folks who perpetuate the very lies and paranoia you describe.

But for the suggestion The Press should police the LTE submissions, I’d hate to see the usual rants from the usual people disappear. It’s cheap entertainment. Better than Ghastly Groaners. I often laugh at what gets printed, and on occasion sort of throw up in my mouth because of it.

Indeed, “People are entitled to hold ignorant, even nutty political beliefs.” And while they may not have the right to have those opinions published, allowing those folks to identify themselves provides a light for the rest of us.
