Michael Johnston, 57

| March 10, 2021 1:00 AM

Michael S. Johnston, a power sports enthusiast and life-long resident of Idaho, left us unexpectedly on Feb. 26, 2021, at the age of 57.

Michael was born in American Falls, Idaho, on Feb. 18, 1964. Michael spent his childhood in Tekoa, Wash., before moving to Plummer, Idaho, in his teens, where he graduated from Plummer High School. He later married Teresa Magers in 1986 and settled down in Post Falls, Idaho, to raise their two daughters. They later divorced in 2019.

He had a successful career as the general manager of Post Falls Powersports for 23 years, where he grew his passion for sports and the outdoors. Many of his favorite activities were camping, hunting, fishing and riding off-road vehicles.

Michael was often the life of the gathering and had a way of making people laugh and feel welcomed. He had a very generous heart and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Of all the things Michael loved most, his biggest pride and joy was his four grandchildren and spending time with them.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kara (Brady) of Boise and Kelsey (Robert) of Rathdrum, Idaho; his four grandchildren; his parents, Joseph and Delores Johnston of Coeur d'Alene; and his siblings and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021, with a reception to follow at Yates Funeral Home and Gathering Center, 373 E Hayden Ave., Hayden, ID 83854.

Everyone is welcome.
