SMOKE: Keep it down, please

| March 5, 2021 1:00 AM

I noticed while driving on Lancaster Road on Feb. 25 that there were stacks of burning logs near the intersection of Lancaster and Government Way. The smoke was polluting the area for miles north of there. I’ve noticed that several times this winter. They were even burning during an air stagnation alert.

Why are they allowed to do this? That wood could be used to heat people’s homes and why should people in that area have to put up with smoke pollution? We get enough of that in the summer with forest fire smoke.
