LAKELAND: Keep good thing going

We pen this letter in support of the Lakeland School District levy. We encourage the community to look at the positive investment in young people and the fiscally conservative practices Lakeland consistently displays. Not all districts are equal in this respect.

As parents of two Lakeland grads and grandparents of two current students, we have experienced the sound impact Lakeland has on young citizens. The educators, administration and board members have a proven track record of working hard to prepare our youth for success in life.

Lakeland reiterated this strong commitment when, bucking the trend, they safely opened classroom doors to students in September. Our grandchildren are thriving under the daily interaction in person learning provides. The district’s dedication to fiscal conservatism is obvious when comparing facilities with most other districts in our area.

Though we now live in Kootenai School District (whose levy we support), we consider ourselves Hawks to the end!

Please vote Yes for Lakeland students and families March 9.
