This workshop is for new gun owners with minimal or no experience with handguns and those considering a first time handgun purchase

Under the direction of NRA certified instructors, most of whom served as law enforcement officers, participants will learn several handgun basics. Participants must be age 18 or older and pre-registration is required.

Topics include handgun types, common terms and definitions related to handguns and shooting, safe handling of firearms and loading, unloading and shooting range rules.

Participants will have an opportunity to participate in live fire activities. If you have your own firearm, bring it, along with your own eye and ear protection, and one box of factory ammunition. No live ammunition will be allowed in the classroom.

If you don't have a firearm, experienced instructors can guide you in selecting the proper firearm for you.

Total cost of the workshop is $9.75 payable online or at the door. Space is limited to 20 participants.

Class will be at the Farragut Public Shooting Range from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 24. There will be a lunch break from noon until 1:30 p.m. You are welcome to bring your lunch or dine locally.
