Doug Brown, 61

| June 23, 2021 1:00 AM

On Monday, June 14, 2021 loving husband and stepfather, Doug Brown, passed away at the age of 61.

Doug was born in Spokane, Wash., to Rod and Peggy Brown. As a long-term resident of Hayden, Idaho, he retired in 2019 after 43 years in the grocery retail business.

He met his wife, Mary, in 1996 and loved her two children as his own. Doug and Mary would have celebrated their 20-year anniversary this August.

Doug was an avid fisherman and never missed a chance to go after the big fish, including salmon, halibut and steelhead. He loved camping in their motorhome, with Priest Lake as the favorite destination.

Doug was the quintessential genuinely nice guy who would do anything for anyone. He was known for his bad jokes and infectious smile.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Rod. He is survived by his wife, Mary, stepchildren, Dana and Ryan, mother and sister, Peggy and Sheryl, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the family home later this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network are suggested.
