Chamber gearing up for fabulous Fourth

| June 3, 2021 1:00 AM

The Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber’s annual Fourth of July Parade & Festival is back.

“Our 4th of July Festival provides an excellent opportunity to help our local economy and honor our great country as we continue to recover from last year’s challenges,” said Derrell Hartwick, chamber president and CEO.

The city of Coeur d’Alene has issued the required permits for the event. The chamber has received guidance and support from the Panhandle Health District, the state of Idaho, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office and EMS Offices, as well as the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.

Food vendors, carnival rides and entertainment will begin on Saturday, July 3, in City Park from noon to 7 p.m. On Sunday, July 4, festivities start at 11 a.m. with the American Heroes Parade down Sherman Avenue from 15th Street to Government Way. The festivities will culminate in a fireworks show over Lake Coeur d'Alene at dusk.

"We are excited once again to bring the American Heroes Parade to Downtown Coeur d’Alene," a press release said. "The spirit and intent of this parade is to celebrate the birth of our great nation and honor the heroes who have fought to protect our freedom and independence. The chamber is looking forward to seeing how creative our businesses and community can be in carrying out the parade theme."

Parade applications and guidelines for the event are available at cdachamber.com/4th-of-july-parade.

The annual fireworks display is funded by the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber. Donations are needed and appreciated. Donations can be made at cdachamber.com and at the Coeur d’Alene Visitors Center, 105 N. 1st Street.

This year’s festival is sponsored by Numerica Credit Union and the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel and Spa.
