FLAG: Discolored desecration

| July 23, 2021 1:00 AM

Does anyone consider the “Thin Blue Line” American flag as a desecration? The U.S. code (Title 18, ss 700), which defines such desecration, uses both the words defaces and defiles. Synonyms for these words include distort, blemish and discolor. How better to describe the thin blue line flag than as a discoloration of the American flag?

If we are to be patriotic Americans, should we consider following U.S. Code?

Finally, before anyone gets bent out of shape, this is in no way an affront to our law enforcement and the difficult decisions they face every day they put on the uniform. Simply put, there must be a better way for us to show them support than changing the colors of Old Glory.
