SCHOOLS: The path forward

| July 11, 2021 1:00 AM

To the Coeur d’Alene School Trustees and Union: God has been removed from the classroom, love of America is in the trash heap, and the moral values of the Ten Commandments are banned.

Your answers to school academic and social dysfunction is to create “Portrait of a Graduate” and social justice “Equity Framework.” Now our tax money is being used to train teachers to hunt down bias, report bias, and evaluate individual students and teachers on their social and emotional attitudes.

As an alarmed former public-school teacher, I feel it my duty to fight the takeover of our Coeur d’Alene schools. I ask you to teach about the genocides of Mao’s Communist China, Stalin’s Communist Russia and Hitler’s socialist regime. Teach about Venezuelans fleeing their ruined country due to socialism. Yes, include the genocide of American Indians, so no race is again demeaned and persecuted.

Yes, teach about slavery, but also teach about our evolution to a “more perfect union” that was and is possible because of our Constitution.

Are you attempting to instill love and pride in our country or are your policies undermining these values? Perhaps, you should survey students on this issue.

Citizens, it is time to make your voices heard. Attend a board meeting, write a letter, or just seek truth. There is a 5 p.m. board meeting on July 12 at 1505 N. Fifth St. and every second Monday of the month. Direct letters to Trustees at info@cdaschools.org. Remember, the children are your future.
