PRESS: Stamp out the bias

| July 9, 2021 1:00 AM

Is there no one at the Coeur d’Alene Press who can identify the bias in the item “Voting rights ruling increases pressure on Democrats to act” (July 2) and know that it has no place on a page purporting to be “news?”

In the article, a Supreme Court decision is said to be “weakening” voting rights while Republicans are described as “cloaking” their true intent. Describing the legal decision as a “setback” leaves no doubt that the writer espouses a partisan position on the topic.

Slanted reporting is surely one reason why newspapers are struggling to survive. Please take action to correct this type of error.
