North Idaho fuelwood permits available online

| July 3, 2021 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — Permits to cut and collect personal use firewood in North Idaho are available for purchase online through the Bureau of Land Management’s Forest Product Permit System.

Permits are valid for woodcutting lands managed by the Coeur d’Alene and Cottonwood field offices. They are not valid for firewood cutting activities on lands managed by the U.S. Forest Service.

Personal use firewood permits cost $5 per cord with a two-cord minimum purchase per transaction. Purchases through the online program can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We are pleased to offer this convenient method of purchasing a fuelwood permit for the public,” said Ray Pease, field manager for the Coeur d’Alene Field Office. “Instead of having to travel to a local BLM office during business hours, members of the public can purchase a permit on their own time schedule from just about anywhere.”
