ARTICLE: Strong on science

| January 22, 2021 1:00 AM

The response by two doctors to the question about how the coronavirus vaccine was developed so quickly was quite informative. The use of the political description “warp speed” sounded like steps bypassed, as the answer clearly explains that the vaccine development was based on sound scientific research building on prior studies of the Mers and SARS viruses.

The vaccine development was a global effort which was based on sharing and prior research with adequate funding for research. Both the knowledge all our scientists possess and due to the scope of the pandemic, money was available. There should be no question that the science was sound and all-encompassing despite the Star Trek reference. I personally will place my faith in science and scientists.

This was a most informative article. I hope many read it and if not, they should go back and read it.
