LAKELAND: Support good decisions

| February 23, 2021 1:00 AM

As a senior citizen, I was thrilled to receive my absentee ballot in the mail and vote YES for the Lakeland levy.

What we’ve learned through this pandemic, other than the correct way to wash our hands, is the integral role the schools play in our economy and community.

Lakeland has always put students first and included parents.

Schools are built on structure. When the pandemic hit, all structure was turned upside down.

Lakeland 272 has bent over backward to get kids into the classroom and offer other options as well. Schools in session bring a feeling of normalcy for children and families. I applauded Lakeland’s efforts with a YES vote.

Rather than a cost, I see educated young people as an investment in my future Social Security and Medicare benefits on which I rely. I’m voting YES for students’ future and my future too.

When Lakeland Joint School District 272 asks for my help, the answer is YES. I urge you to show your support to this essential part of our lives with your YES vote too.
