Task force endorses school levies

| February 17, 2021 1:00 AM

Our three local school districts — Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls and Lakeland — are having an election on March 9 to replace expiring levies. These are not additional levies, just a continuation of levies that must be renewed in order to fund our schools. The Kootenai County Task Force on Human Relations strongly supports our area schools and asks you to vote yes to ensure kids receive the education that will propel them into a successful future.

These levies fund a portion of the monies necessary to support the ongoing operations of the Kootenai Technical Education Center (KTEC) as well as school nurses, school resource officers, mental health professionals, technology needs for students and staff, music, arts and PE programs, as well as advanced classes to prepare students for college and careers.

Levy funds support vital services and positions that aren't covered by state money. Our children are our future, and the most precious to us. Please vote yes for the school district levies.
