MONEY: Take stimulus challenge

| February 14, 2021 1:00 AM

I think we can all agree that the U.S. government is good at wasting taxpayers’ money. Whether you agree or not to the spending of trillions of dollars for COVID relief, and adding to the out-of-control national debt, here is the chance for some of us to place the stimulus money into the right hands. Into the hands of the people/families who have been negatively impacted financially by regulations put into place to fight this virus.

I am retired and have seen no negative financial impact, except the cost of toilet paper going up. I know there are others who have not lost jobs or suffered financially. I understand that a little “free” money comes in handy. I could go buy a new fish finder with it, or, give it to a family struggling to buy food or pay rent.

My challenge to all of us that can, is to use the upcoming stimulus money to make a positive impact in others’ lives. Go out and be aware of the people around you. Find those people who are struggling and bless them with some cash. Take your children and grandchildren out with you so they too can experience the feeling of helping others. Donating to nonprofits is another option. See you out there.
