EDITORIAL: Right about Norris

Thanks for Friday’s editorial supporting our Prosecuting Attorney and our Sheriff, they EARNED it by their fair and just application of the law. Especially, the Sheriff who had to deal with his situation in the moment. Sheriff Norris performed his duties with commendable restraint and according to what has been adopted by the majority of Law Enforcement Agencies in the country, the NIJ, Use of force continuum, viewable at; The Use-of-Force Continuum | National Institute of Justice (ojp.gov).

Sheriff Norris performed his duties as if someone were holding a cue card for how he should handle this situation. Obviously that was not the case, that is what 30+ years of Law Enforcement experience will do for you.

We are fortunate that 70+% of Kootenai County residents made the right choice for our Sheriff.
