Anthony ‘Tony’ Darrel Longinotti, Jr.
Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Los Angeles, Calif. Died Dec. 15, 2020, in Post Falls, Idaho.
It is with great sadness that Tony’s family announces his passing on Dec. 15, 2020, in Post Falls. He was the son of the late Anthony D. and Anne Longinotti, of Los Angeles. Pre-deceasing Tony were his beloved wife, Gay Frances, his third son, Tom Longinotti, and his grandson, Jordan Longinotti.
Tony was born and worked in the Los Angeles area most of his life. After 15 years in the restaurant business, he became the successful owner and the heart and soul of the Irving Longinotti Co., which specialized in antique reproduction and custom upholstery furniture.
Throughout his life his passions included art, jazz music, car races, classic movies, building and flying model airplanes, seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and sharing his love. He was artistic and creative, always with a keen eye for detail in all that he did.
During retirement in North Idaho, he enjoyed puttering in the yard, visiting friends and family on the West Coast with Gay, and sharing recipes and great meals with his extended family. He would make sure he stayed connected with all of his family, even if some were not living nearby.
Tony will be remembered for his great kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity. He was often described as larger than life, devoted to his wife and family. He looked forward to the many celebrations with family and friends, often sharing family stories of days gone by.
Tony is survived by sons Tony (Patti) of Post Falls, Mike (Molly) North of Vancouver, B.C. and David (Karen) of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and grandchildren Pia, Cara, Katie, Tony (Laura), Caris Friberg (Darrin), Sarah, Alyssa, Ryan Hawk, Samantha (Reggie Johnson), Maryanna and Victoria; and seven great-grandchildren. Tony is also survived by his cousin, Jill Marcellus, and sister-in-law, Peggy Thompson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time. Rest in Peace Tony.
