Cameren Cope, a 6-foot-5, 210 pound defensive end from Coeur d’Alene High was among nine new players signed by Weber State during the National Letter of Intent early signing period, which began on Wednesday.
“Once again really excited for the group we have signed,” Weber State coach Jay Hill said. “We got a lot of really good players and addressed some areas we needed to fill. This is the biggest December signing class we have had. We are excited for this group and look forward to adding more in February.
Tiger Adolpho (6-1, 220), a quarterback from Rigby High, also signed with the program.
Cope had 80 tackles and 3.5 sacks this season for Coeur d’Alene and finished his Viking career with 154 tackles in three seasons.
Idaho: The Vandals signed a quarterback and wide receiver on the first day of the early signing period, adding quarterback Ridge Docekal from Arizona and Cade Ledesma, a receiver from Ventura, Calif.
Docekal, a 6-3, 210, pro style quarterback, is the latest in a line of players at Idaho from Saguaro High, joining Hayden and Hogan Hatten. He threw for 1,577 yards and 12 touchdowns, with only two interceptions this fall.
Ledesma, a 6-2, 180, wide receiver/defensive back, joins the Vandal program in the spring after wrapping up the fall at Jireh Prep School. During his senior year at Ventura, he tallied 96 yards rushing and six touchdowns in a five-game season, with six receptions for 43 yards.
Washington State: Washington State added 10 players on the first day of the early signing period, coach Jake Dickert announced.
The Cougars added nine high school players and one junior college program for 2022. Four will enroll in January and participate in spring practice.
Among the signees is Sam Lockett III, a 6-1, 205 safety from Gonzaga Prep, who played at Utah State in 2019.
Eastern Washington: Seven players will join the Eastern Washington program next fall, coach Aaron Best announced. Among the signees are two players from Washington, three from California and one from both Oregon and California.
Among the signees were Drew Carter (6-2, 185), a safety from Lake Stevens High and Elijah Rodriguez, a 6-1, 210 linebacker from Richland High.
Boise State: Second-year coach Andy Avalos announced the signing of 22 players — five offensive linemen, two wide receivers, one quarterback, one running back, one tight end, four defensive linemen, three inside linebackers, two EDGEs, one cornerback, one safety and a punter.
Among the signees were Cade Beresford, an offensive lineman who played the last three seasons at Washington State. He started eight of WSU’s first nine games at right guard this past season.
The quarterback signee is Maddux Madsen (5-10, 191) from American Fork (Utah) High, a pocket passer who threw for 4,044 yards and 48 touchdowns as a junior, and for more than 3,000 yards with 38 touchdowns this past season.
Inside linebacker Dishawn Misa (6-3, 227), from Eastside Catholic High in Sammamish, Wash., is a four-star recruit per 247Sports and ESPN, and rated the No. 3 prospect in Washington by ESPN (No. 5 by 247Sports).
EDGE rusher George Tarlas (6-4, 260), from Borah High in Boise, is a transfer from Weber State who has one year of eligibility remaining. At Weber this fall, He was second on the team in tackles, and forced four fumbles.
Montana: Grizzlies coach Bobby Hauck added 12 athletes, 10 from the state of Montana, on the first full day of the early signing period.
Among the signees was quarterback Kaden Huot (6-4, 200) from Helena High. A three-time All-State selection dating back to 2019, Huot was the top-ranked recruit in the state, throwing for 6,977 yards and 61 touchdowns in three years. He also received interest from Oregon State, Fresno State and North Dakota State.
