DRIVERS: ‘Tis the season

| December 12, 2021 1:00 AM

I just wanted to ask readers and their friends who are new to the area to PLEASE drive more carefully, you’re in Idaho now.

Aside from the individuals with (nameless) out of state plates flying across I-90 and driving 90 mph, the scarier thing is people turning left on red! Especially by the Costco four-way light on Fourth. Please get a manual or go online regarding driving rules here. Someone is going to get killed, whether car or pedestrian, just because you can’t wait 30 seconds.

I think it would be wise of Coeur d’Alene police to monitor this new trend and maybe traffic cameras issuing citations.

I was born here in Coeur d’Alene and I’m only 50 and have seen a lot of change, especially in the last few years. All any native here asks is PLEASE respect our area and remember it’s not where you moved from. I do dig seeing Texas plates around.

By the way, this snowfall is nothing. I can remember a bitter, dry -15 degrees winter time.

Welcome to Idaho, new transplants!
