Diane Van Zandt, 77

| December 10, 2021 1:00 AM

On Dec. 7, our beloved mom, Diane Van Zandt, passed away peacefully at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene. This amazing mother of three boys was born on Sept. 5, 1944, to Charlie and Marjorie Reed in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She moved her family to Sandpoint, Idaho, in 1969 and then to the Coeur d'Alene area in 1974, where she spent her remaining years. Diane loved fishing in the streams of Northern Idaho, riding horseback, going camping with her family, gardening, and truly loved living in one of the most beautiful cities in the Northwest. More than anything else, she loved her family fiercely.

She was the most loving, beautiful mother we could ask for — always putting everyone else before herself. She was the kindest, most selfless person that any of us have ever met. She will be missed more than words can say. Rest in peace, beautiful mama. We love you.

She is survived by her two sons, Timothy Castleton of Rathdrum and Robert Castleton of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, her granddaughter Michelle Williams, her husband Marshall Williams and their two children Elliott and Cash, her grandson Robert David Castleton, her two sisters Velda and Elaine, and her significant other Gene Regjovich. Rest in Peace, Beautiful Lady.

Diane's celebration of life will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, at English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Service to be preceded by viewing and visitation from 9-11 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum, Idaho.
