WAR: Congress owes apology

| August 22, 2021 1:00 AM

I wish to state my opinion regarding Afghanistan. I strongly agree with a previous letter. The U.S. military has carried out their missions with courage and distinction.

So many are claiming failure by this person or agency, some are warranted. However, the U.S. Congress allowed 20 years of WAR. Each, sometimes more often, they voted to continue funding for the war. Congress never attempted to reclaim their constitutional authority, ONLY CONGRESS can declare war.

I would propose that each member of Congress be required to publicly apologize to the U.S. military. A pipe dream, yes but it would be wonderful.
