Oh, the stories eyeballs tell
Today’s editorial is not important.
It will not take a controversial stand or try to convince you of a position you’re not inclined to adopt.
If you read this and conclude that you’re surrounded by mental giants or morons, that’s your call. We’re not suggesting either. Just stating some stats.
The Press has a website, as most of you know. It’s cdapress.com. But the newspaper also has a Facebook page, which for the most part gives readers a headline and a few words about something we’ve published. Sometimes our Facebook audience clicks through to read the whole article. Other times, not.
We keep an eye on what Facebook content magnetizes eyeballs — but, honestly, we don’t let that be our guide. If we did, we wouldn’t waste time on taxpayer issues like property taxes and city budgets. We probably wouldn’t cover most school board meetings. A lot of the bread-and-butter stuff — important but exceedingly unsexy — is more appreciated by print subscribers than social media voyeurs.
But just because today’s a good day to take a little break from conflict and consternation, here’s a snapshot of a few recent headlines followed by people reached via Press Facebook. Just for the heck of it.
