NIC holds auditions for fall production
North Idaho College Theatre Department is holding open auditions for their fall production, "This Random World: The Myth of Serendipity," at 6 p.m. on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 in Todd Hall, Room 101 in the Molstead Library on NIC’s main campus in Coeur d’Alene.
“It’s just a really well written piece and there are some fun acting challenges,” said Joe Jacoby, director and NIC theater professor. “I think people will really value working on it and really enjoy seeing it.”
The comedy mixed with drama was written by Steven Dietz and examines how people connect and fail to connect with each other.
“It’s got comedic moments and some really moving moments,” Jacoby said. “Ultimately it’s just a really beautiful play.”
Auditions are open to all students, staff, faculty and community members. There are roles for four women playing 20s/30s, one woman playing 50s/60s and two men playing 20s/30s.
The play includes mature language.
Rehearsals will begin Sept. 7 and run Monday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Production dates are Oct. 21, 22, 23, and 28, 29 and 30.
