Larry Jerome Leibel, 78

| April 21, 2021 1:00 AM

Larry J. Leibel went home to be the Lord Jesus on April 10, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born Oct. 22, 1942, in Mobridge, S.D., to Anton “Tony” and Frances Leibel. He was raised on the Leibel Family Farm in Glencross, S.D.; he was the oldest of seven children. He and his wife, Pam, were married Aug. 26, 1964, in Timber Lake, S.D., celebrating 59 years of marriage this year.

After graduating from Timber Lake High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed with the Third Infantry Division in Germany, between 1961 and 1964. He was proud to be a veteran of his country. In 2000 he retired from the Western Teamsters Union.

He was an avid cyclist, biking up to 20 miles a day. He was also active in his church, Real Life Ministries, serving as a Life Group leader and volunteering in the Benevolence Ministry Food Room amongst many others, until he was diagnosed with aggressive brain cancer earlier this year.

He will be remembered for his commitment to the Lord Jesus, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His work ethic and integrity are unmatched. He never passed up a chance to save a penny and if you were on time you were considered late. He was always up for a visit, whatever the topic might be.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife and caretaker Pam; children Barbi Umbinetti (Harry), Debbie Sexton, Becki Raymundo (Lou) and Patrick (Amy); his eight grandchildren: Chris (Tamara), Josh, Trevor (Lana), Jamie (Cathaline) Umbinetti, Kyle Sexton, Makenzie Leibel, Lance and Ava Raymundo; great-grandchildren Anthony, Ashley, CJ and Callie; his siblings, Jane Leibel, Robert Leibel (Gladys), Marion Janas (Doug), Anthony (Cathy), Merle Leibel (Rene), Ron Leibel (JoAnn). He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Patrick Michael (2010).

The family is thankful for his friends and family who made it to Post Falls, Idaho, to say their goodbyes.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2021, at the English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, Idaho.
