A woman is being held on $40,000 bail after she allegedly failed to comply with the terms of her sentencing in a DUI case.

Kristina M. Over, 35, of Spirit Lake, pleaded guilty in August 2020 to driving under the influence and to failing to give notice of an accident, both misdemeanors.

The charges stem from an evening in May 2020, when Idaho State Police responded to a report of an erratic driver. There was a child in the car, according to court documents.

The driver, identified as Over, told police she had more than two glasses of wine that evening. However, she provided a breath sample of zero.

Over reportedly told police she was taking over-the-counter medication and said a prescription bottle belonging to another person was in her car.

She also said she had taken a pill prescribed to her roommate.

Police reportedly found several bottles of prescription medication in the vehicle, including two that did not belong to Over.

She was arrested at the scene.

Over also reportedly hit a delineator post on U.S 95, damaging it.

Judge James Combo sentenced Over to serve four days in jail and do two shifts with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Labor Program.

However, Over did not report to jail and did not complete her shifts, authorities said.

A judge issued a $40,000 warrant for Over’s arrest in March.

Spirit Lake Police arrested Over on Monday night.
