Vandals add Tracy to offensive staff

MOSCOW — Pryce Tracy has been elevated to running backs coach for the University of Idaho football program. Tracy spent last season working with the offense as a graduate assistant.

“I’m very excited,” Idaho coach Paul Petrino aaid. “Pryce is a great, young mind. He has a ton of passion to be a great coach. He really understands the game, has great knowledge, has been a lot of places. We’re just very excited to have Pryce become full-time.”

“I am thankful to Coach Petrino and our AD Terry Gawlik for giving me the opportunity to become a full-time coach here at Idaho,” Tracy said. “I look forward to getting to work with our student-athletes.”

A five-year stint with Notre Dame highlight’s Tracy’s resume. While in South Bend, he helped the Fighting Irish to four bowl games, including three wins, over the five-year stretch. Notre Dame won 10 games twice, and closed out Tracy’s time with the program with a win over LSU in the Citrus Bowl. He worked in a handful of different roles with Notre Dame, spending time with the quarterbacks and the special teams.

Prior to Idaho, Tracy spent one season as the quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator at Arkansas Tech.

Tracy also has experience with the University of Alabama (2011-12), winning the All-State BCS National Championship against LSU, 21-0. He began his coaching career with Clay High School (2009-11) in Indiana. Tracy graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University South Bend.

Also, Brian Reader has moved to the wide receiver group after spending last year with the running backs. Reader will remain recruiting coordinator.
