Lynda Jean (Monaghan) Dunham, 70

| September 2, 2020 1:00 AM

Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend drifted off to sleep and slipped into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of Aug. 23, 2020. Lynda was born in Coeur d’Alene, in 1949, to William Monaghan Sr. and Alice (Bolich) Monaghan. She attended school in Coeur d’Alene and graduated in 1967.

She was very proud of her four children: Erik, Tali, Hilary and Ryan. She spent many years juggling school, raising kids and working full-time. In her early career, she worked with special needs children and adults, which led her into foster parenting. Later in her career, she worked in property management. Lynda was active in the recovery community for 22 years.

In 1999, Lynda married the love of her life, Kelly Dunham, and added three more sons to her family: Jason, Joshua and Anthony. Lynda and Kelly spent 21 years together and had numerous adventures, including living in Florida, Connecticut, and most recently, the Tacoma area in Washington state.

For the last few years, Lynda battled COPD and lung cancer, but she has finally won that war!

Lynda is survived by her husband, Kelly Dunham; brothers William (Cindy) Monaghan, Jr. and Michael Monaghan, Sr.; children Erik (Diana) Turrell, Tali (Rob) Dixon, Hilary (Bret) Heller, Ryan Turrell, Jason Dunham, Joshua Arvizu and Anthony Dunham; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the many friends whom she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Monaghan; mother-in-law, Joan Winter; brother-in-law, Michael Dunham and grandson, Blaine Turrell.

A celebration of life service will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at the Post Falls Real Life Ministries, room 112. A dessert reception will follow, and we would love for you to bring your favorite dessert to share.
