STATE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER TOURNAMENTS: 5As heading home, but 3A tournament continues today

Schedules and semifinals were impacted heavily as a snowstorm in the Coeur d'Alene area wiped out matches in the state high school soccer tournaments on Friday.

Coeur d'Alene Charter was scheduled to face Sun Valley Community School in the 3A boys semifinal, but had that match postponed until today at 9 a.m. at The Fields in Post Falls.

That winner will advance to face Weiser (6-5-0) in the championship match at 5 p.m. Weiser beat Gooding 3-2 in the other semifinal on Friday.

A third-place match will be played at 2 p.m.

Sugar-Salem will face McCall-Donnelly in the boys consolation championship today at 11 a.m.

Teams in the 5A tournament, with games at Post Falls, Lake City and Coeur d'Alene high called off games for the weekend and will continue the tournament starting Monday. Lake City's season came to an end after the consolation bracket was canceled following the Timberwolves 1-0 win over Madison of Rexburg.

Lake City was scheduled to face Kuna today.

The 5A girls semifinal between Timberline and Rocky Mountain will be Monday at Middleton High. The winner will face Boise for the state title on Tuesday. The third-place game will be at Canyon Ridge High on Tuesday.

5A BOYS

Madison 1, Post Falls 0: The Trojans finished 8-4-2 after falling to the Bobcats of Rexburg in a loser-out match at Coeur d'Alene High.

5A GIRLS

Lake City 1, Madison 0: The Timberwolves improved to 12-4-0 with a win over the Bobcats of Rexburg in a loser-out match at Coeur d'Alene High.

3A GIRLS

Sun Valley Community School 4, Timberlake 0: The Tigers finished 8-7-2 following a loss to the Cutthroat Trout in a loser-out game at The Fields.

3A BOYS

Sugar-Salem 3, Timberlake 0: The Tigers fell to the Diggers in a loser-out match at The Fields to finish the season 6-9-2.
