McGowan, a 6-foot-5 junior goalkeeper, had three saves for the Trojans in a 1-0 win over Lake City in the 5A Region 1 championship match at Lake City High on Oct. 14, the program's first regional title since 2017. "He's had to be big for us this year," Post Falls coach Gabe Lawson said. "You've got to have big moments in big games, and Kael came up huge for us. He wasn't the same keeper last year. He's matured into one of the best in our league this year."
